When Sterling Marlin climbs behind the wheel of his #14 Ginn Clubs & Resorts Chevy for this weekend’s Pepsi 400 at Daytona, he’ll be stepping into a piece of art. Three campers from Camp Boggy Creek, a summer camp for seriously ill children, started their creative engines and put their own design to the Ginn Clubs & Resorts car for Saturday night’s race. With only a blank template in hand, the three children let their imaginations race, collaborating to make their vision become a reality with millions of spectators viewing the creation this weekend. Camp Boggy Creek, based in Eustis, Fla., falls under the Hole In The Wall Camps umbrella which is also home to Randleman, N.C.-based The Victory Junction Gang Camp. Tori Tiger (15), Jake Westfield (13) and Zachary Robinson (10) were the three lucky children from Camp Boggy Creek chosen to participate in the creation. Complete with flashy colors, racing stripes, polka dots and stars, the #14 Chevy is sure to stand out when it roars around Daytona International Speedway. The deck lid of this weekend’s #14 Chevy will carry an Easter Seals logo. The nonprofit organization won a spot on the Ginn Clubs & Resorts car in a charity go-cart event earlier this month between Marlin and Bill Elliott. The official unveiling of the car will take place Thursday, June 29 near the infield media center at Daytona International Speedway.(MB2Motorsports PR),see an image of the car on my #14 Team Schemes page.(6-29-2006)
