Ramblings – Qualifying Notes – Watkins Glen:

Kurt Busch pulled off the road course sweep (at least as far as the pole is concerned) today at Watkins Glen as he took the Bud Pole for Sunday’s AMD at the Glen with a time of 71.727 sec (122.966 mph)….more than 6/10th’s better than Kasey Kahne. This is the third pole of the season for Busch and the 6th of his NEXTEL Cup career.
Robby Gordon (6th) has his best starting spot since he lined up 5th at Infineon in June of 2005.
Elliott Sawyer (12th) has his best starting spot since he qualified 8th at Dover in June.
Scott Pruett (13th) has his best starting spot since he timed in 9th at Infineon in June of 2005 (only three races).
Bill Elliott (31st) is in the Evernham #19 this weekend. Stay tuned for more legalese from both the Evernham and Mayfield sides.
Marc Goossens (27th) makes his first NEXTEL Cup start this weekend for Robert Yates in his #90 Ford.
