Patrick Carpentier will make his stock car debut this weekend as part of the CASCAR series event at Cayuga Speedway located near Hamilton, Ontario. The former open-wheel racer will drive David Jacombs’ #88 Ford Taurus after track owner Jerry Santucci made an offer to sponsor Carpentier’s inaugural stock car race. Carpentier hopes to parlay this experience into a Busch ride for 2007 with a goal of eventually racing on the NASCAR Nextel Cup series. (TSN.ca)(9-1-2006)
