Former Indy Racing League driver Patrick Carpentier says he believes he will be able to land a ride for the Busch Series race in his home country later this year. The Canadian, who was the lead driver on the team that finished second in the Rolex 24 At Daytona last weekend and will drive a sports car for the entire 2007 season, has been pursuing at least a part-time Busch ride. The 35-year-old Carpentier, who was 10th in the IRL standings in 2005, has competed in a CASCAR race, Canada’s stock-car series. “We’ve been working very hard trying to get a Busch ride,” Carpentier said last week. “Things look pretty good for Montreal [in August], so I could do the road course in the Busch car.”(Scene Daily)(1-30-2007)
