Everything’s “Chip”er in Indy! Chip Ganassi owned Dodges took the top-spots today at The Brickyard for Sunday’s Allstate 400….and for Reed Sorenson, it’s his first ever Nextel Cup Bud Pole. Reed’s previous best starting spot was 3rd at Loudon earlier this month. Sorenson cruised around this venerable establishment in 48.858 seconds (184.207) to edge his teammate Juan Pablo Montoya and gain entry to next February’s Budweiser Shootout at Daytona….the 11th qualifier for that event. Juan Pablo Montoya (2nd) has his career-best starting spot this weekend. His previous best was 4th at Las Vegas in March. Tony Raines (11th) has his best starting spot since he lined up 11th at Martinsville in April. David Stremme (12th) has his best starting spot since he timed in 10th at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in May. Welcome Back Scott Wimmer (22nd). This is his first start since he qualified 24th and finished 12th at Homestead last November. And, Welcome Back Ken Schreader (36th).
