Rockwell Automation to Bow Out of Motorsports after 2007 Season: UPDATE:

Rockwell Automation will finish its 11-year motorsports tenure with Joe Gibbs Racing. The #20 Rockwell Automation Chevy campaigned by JGR in the Busch Series since 2003 will see its final race in Rockwell Automations red and white livery at the Busch Series season finale Nov. 17 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Despite not wearing the colors of Rockwell Automation, the #20 Busch Series team fielded by JGR will contest the entire 2008 Busch Series schedule, as will JGRs #18 Busch Series team. Driver and sponsor combinations for the #20 and 18 teams will be announced in January 2008. Sponsorship for the #20 team is currently being pursued.(Joe Gibbs Racing PR)(8-20-2007)
UPDATE: Gibbs needs a sponsor for his #20 Busch Series car as Rockwell Automation announced earlier this week that it would not return next year. JGR has two Busch Series teams, where Cup drivers Denny Hamlin and Tony Stewart and development drivers Aric Almirola (now headed to Dale Earnhardt Inc.), Brad Coleman and Kevin Conway have all seen time this year. Joey Logano, a rising star, turns 18 next May and would be eligible to run Busch races. “We’d love someone to fill that role – we could offer someone a pretty good deal,” Gibbs said. “We’d love to have Logano full-time [after he becomes 18] and obviously Tony is going to run some for us. We have Kyle and Denny and those [young] guys.”(SceneDaily.com)(8-26-2007)
