Ray Evernham said Erin Crocker still is trying to put together a deal to run next season in the Craftsman Truck, Busch or ARCA series. In her last start for Gillett Evernham Motorsports, Crocker finished 18th in Friday’s ARCA race at Talladega Superspeedway. “There could be some partnerships for her to run the whole ARCA series,” Evernham said. “We’re going to do everything we can to help her move on, and hopefully people will take her more seriously when she’s off on her own.” Evernham admitted in August that his personal relationship with the 25-year-old Crocker hurt her career. Evernham said Crocker’s Thursday performance, which clinched the 11-race ARCA superspeedway championship, was indicative of her talent. Crocker hasn’t won a race in stock cars but has six top-five finishes in ARCA this year. She led 12 laps in placing second at Kentucky Speedway in May.(USA Today)(10-7-2007)
