Atlanta Ramblings:

Greg Biffle went out late tonight and took the Bud Pole for Sunday’s Pep Boys Auto 500 at Atlanta with a scary-fast speed of 192.453 (28.807 sec). This is his first top-spot of the season (his last pole was at Richmond in May of 2006) and 4th of his Nextel Cup career. He becomes the 16th different pole winner this year. He’ll be joined on the front row by Kurt Busch (who went out early and his time almost stood up). Dale Jarrett (3rd) has his best starting spot since he had the outside pole at Talladega last October. Dale Earnhardt Jr (5th) has his best starting spot since he had the pole at Pocono in August. David Stremme (7th) has his best starting spot since he lined up 7th when we were here in March. David Gilliland (13th) has his best starting spot since he had the outside pole at Talladega in April. Jeremy Mayfield (41st) takes over the #66 from Jeff Green, but to hear the TV guys talks you’d have thought he was in exile all season….. STREAKIN….Jimmie Johnson has 12 Top-10 starts in the last 13 races. Kasey Kahne has 4 Top-10 starts in a row. The Trouble Train had five cars in tow today. Dave Reutimann, Burney Lamar, Sam Hornish Jr, Ward Burton, and Mike Skinner are the dnq’s this week.(Stock Car Fans)(10-26-2007)
