Goodyear likely will have to return to Atlanta next January to select a different tire than the one Nextel Cup teams tested on Monday and Tuesday. Some teams have worn their tires out before the end of a fuel run, which is about 50-55 laps. “We’re pretty comfortable with what we’ve seen,” said Goodyear’s Greg Stucker. “[But] it appears the setup on the car of tomorrow is still pretty aggressive from a wear perspective. We’ll probably test again and try … to get more wear resistant. I think everybody is comfortable with the level of grip they have. Our target is a gas stop [for wear], and not everybody is able to get there right now.” Goodyear has at least two more tire tests left this year. It will test Nov. 5 at California with Hendrick Motorsports and David Green as the driver.
