James Frederick Grotton Jr., 61, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at home surrounded by his family. James was born Jan. 11, 1946, in Gardiner, Maine, the son of Fred and Rita (Hopkins) Grotton. He was happily married to Diane (Prescott) Grotton for 43 years. He was part owner of the Pipeline Co., Everett J. Prescott in Concord for 30 years. He left the business in 1995 to travel the country with his wife following the NASCAR racing success of his son-in-law [Ricky Craven]. In addition to his wife, James is survived by their three children, Carman Alenson, Erik Grotton and Cathleen Craven; and nine grandchildren. The death of his oldest grandson, James F. Alenson, in January brought him much sadness. James is also survived by his mother, three brothers, a sister, and several nephews and nieces. (Concord Monitor)(10-31-2007)
