Atlanta Goodyear Tire Notes:

Teams in both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will be running the same tire codes at Atlanta this weekend . . . teams in the Craftsman Truck Series will run the same left-side code (D-4152) with a different right-side code this week . . . this is the first time that teams have run a race on either of these two tire codes . . . this tire setup was tested by Bobby Labonte at Atlanta in December . . . this tire combination has some changes over what has been run at Atlanta in the past . . . this left-side code (D-4152) features Goodyear’s new construction that will help add grip and will be run on all intermediate tracks . . . this right-side code (D-4154) has a tougher tread compound for better wear . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Atlanta. . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire. The estimated pit window is every 50-54 laps, based on fuel mileage.(Goodyear PR), see full report with code and pressures on the Atlanta Race Info page, Goodyear Section.(3-7-2008)
