Daytona Tire Notes:

This is the first time Goodyear has brought these tire codes to the race track . . . after bringing different codes to run in the Daytona 500 in February, Goodyear tested here with Bobby Labonte, Mike Skinner and Jamie McMurray in May . . . compared to February, this left-side tire (D-4180) features a new construction and softer compound . . . this right-side tire (D-4182) features a slightly tougher compound with a revised mold shape . . . this is the only track at which these tire codes will be run in 2008 . . . teams in Nationwide Series will run different tire codes than those in the Sprint Cup Series at Daytona this week . . . as on all NASCAR’s ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Daytona . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire. The estimated pit window is every 36-38 laps, based on fuel mileage.(Goodyear PR), see my Daytona Race Info page.(7-4-2008)
