Scott Speed was the Raybestos Rookie of the Race in the August 20 O’Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Speed scored a third-place finish, his third top-five and fifth top-10 of the 2008 season. He took top rookie honors for the third time this season. Speed won the pole position during qualifying at Bristol, his first pole in nine NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts and first top-10 start of the season. A Raybestos Rookie has scored top-10 finishes in each of the last FOUR consecutive NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races. Colin Braun leads Donny Lia by 13 points (157-144) in the Raybestos Rookie standings entering the September 6 Camping World 200 at Gateway Int’l Raceway. The best finish by a Raybestos Rookie in 10 races at Gateway is fourth by Carl Edwards in 2003. The most Raybestos Rookies to finish inside the top-10 at Gateway are four in 2001: Travis Kvapil, Ricky Hendrick (sixth), Matt Crafton (seventh), and Billy Bigley (tenth).
