Despite the rainy weather, hundreds of fans showed up and helped collect $100,000 in donations and pledges at The First Official Jail and Bail charity event benefitting the Brienne Davis Scholarship Fund Oct. 8 at the Brickhouse Tavern in Davidson, N.C. AND Representatives for The NASCAR Foundation presented Victory Junction Gang with a $450,000 check from funds raised through the NASCAR Day 2008 celebration. Mike Helton, NASCAR president and The NASCAR Foundation board member, and Jim Hunter, NASCAR vice president of corporate communications and The NASCAR Foundation board member, made the presentation to camp founder Kyle Petty and Victory Junction camper Collin McCord at the camp in Randleman, N.C., prior to a service project carried out by members of The NASCAR Foundation Volunteer Network. AND The Jeff Gordon Foundation and Jeff Gordon, hosted “A Hero’s Journey” on Wednesday. The day-long event raised over $310,000 for the Hendrick Marrow Program.
