J.R. Fitzpatrick, the youngest ever CASCAR Super Series Champion, will make his first appearance at the historic high banks of Daytona International Speedway this weekend as the ARCA RE/MAX Series descends upon the 2.5-mile tri-oval in Daytona Beach, Florida for the first open test in preparation for the 2009 season. This test is critical for Fitzpatrick who hopes to gain approval by NASCAR to compete in the Camping World Truck Series full-time in 2009. Fitzpatrick, who has never raced in the ARCA RE/MAX Series before, will drive the #71a TRG Motorsports Chevy in the three-day test which kicks off on Friday, December. Fitzpatrick will have a teammate in 23-year-old Macon, Georgia’s Beau Slocumb.
