R3 Motorsports announced on Tuesday that Mike Skinner will attempt to qualify its #23 Chevy into the Daytona 500 this season. Crew chief Slugger Labbe will oversee the team. The former Craftsman Truck Series (now Camping World Truck Series) champion drove the #5 Toyota Tundra for Bill Davis Racing last season.
