For 2009 Connor Cantrell will join the Mooresville based NASCAR team headed up by Butch Hylton in their driver development program in a limited schedule of ARCA cars and Camping World Trucks. UPDATE: Connor Cantrell, 18, of Los Angeles, California, will be closing his high school locker for the last time to ignite his career as a full-time NASCAR driver. In just a few weeks, Connor will be moving across the country from California to Charlotte, North Carolina to drive for MRD Motor Sports as a satellite team for Tony Stewart/HAAS Racing. Connor will have his first test on March 6th, and will debut in the Kroger 250 in Martinsville, Virginia on March 28th. His sponsors will be American Express, Expedia. UPDATE 2: Team CCR regretfully reports that the primary sponsorship for the 2009 Camping World Trucks and ARCA ReMax Season has been withdrawn as of Friday January 30th due to the ongoing tough economic times. MRD Motorsports has everything in place, and testing is still set to begin on March 6th. This unfortunate turn of events has definitely put a damper on things, but the Team is confident that a new sponsor can be found.(CCR Racing)(1-31-2009)
