Las Vegas Tire Notes:

Teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be running the same right-side tire code (D-4234) as those in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at Las Vegas this weekend, though they will be running a different left-side code (D-4232) . . . this is a brand new combination of left- and right-side tires for Sprint Cup teams . . . compared to the Las Vegas tire set-up last year, this left-side has a softer tread compound for more grip, while this right-side features a construction change for enhanced handling . . . this tire set-up came out of a test at Las Vegas with drivers , Mark Martin, David Stremme and Brian Vickers in December . .. . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Las Vegas . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire. The estimated pit window is every 50-55 laps, based on fuel mileage (Sprint Cup).(Goodyear PR), see full report, pressures, codes and more on my Las Vegas Race Info page – Goodyear.(2-27-2009)
