Tony Stewart wins the All-Star Race:

#14-Tony Stewart won the All-Star Race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, passing #17-Matt Kenseth with 2 laps to go, to capture his first All-Star race victory, becoming only the 2nd owner/driver to ever win the All-Star Race [Geoff Bodine was the other in 1994]. Kenseth held on to 2nd, followed by #2-Busch, #11-Hamlin, #99-Edwards, #5-Martin, #18-Busch, #20-Logano [vote winner], #26-McMurray and #88-Earnhardt Jr. pole sitter 348-Johnson finished 13th after getting involved in a wreck. Just after the green flag for segment 4, #48-Johnson got loose, #11-Hamlin got into the rear of the #48-Johnson, who slid but didn’t hit anything, made a pit stop and started at the ear of the field. Since segment 4 only green flag laps count, the segment restarted. Three laps into the segment #24-Gordon [inside], #18-Busch [middle] and #39-Newman [outside] were going for the lead, Gordon slid up into Busch and got turned around a after sliding thru the grass, nosed into the wall and is done for the evening. The field reverts to the order of the last completed lap, so Busch led. See the race and segment results on my Sprint All-Star Race Results page.(5-16-2009)
