Darian Grubb, crew chief for the #14 Office Depot/Old Spice Chevy driven by Tony Stewart, has been named the Wypall Wipers Crew Chief of the Race following Sunday’s Pocono 500 at Pocono Raceway. Despite starting from the rear of the 43-car field after giving up the pole because of a practice accident, Grubb told his driver to just stick to the [original] game plan” and they did just that. Stewart did not waste any time charging his way back up front, taking over the lead on lap 77. In addition to the $1,000 check, the winning crew chief will receive signage to announce the win on their pit box the following week. The crew chief with the most weekly wins will be honored as the Wypall Wipers Crew Chief of the Year and will be presented a $20,000 check at the season finale in Homestead.(Wypall)(6-9-2009)
