#5-Mark Martin (38th) and #00-David Reutimann (36th) got in big trouble at Daytona and the result was everyone in the Top 12 gained big ground. #99-Carl Edwards and #11-Denny Hamlin went from being in the 161-point “danger zone” after New Hampshire to good cushions now. Mark Martin’s fifth Bottom 2010 finish of the year dropped him out of the Top 12. #42-Juan Pablo Montoya’s ninth at Daytona gained him 85 points over 13th place. Lots of racing left, but the #42 team has to feel great going to Chicagoland in 11th place, with an 86-point margin over 13th. Montoya has yet to record a top 5 this season.
