UPDATE: BlackJack Racing and Dexter Bean have decided to withdraw from the Sharpie 500 after the news of crew chief, Ryan Bergenty, breaking his ankle in three places on Tuesday night at Bristol Motor Speedway. Bergenty went to Bristol earlier than the rest of the team, on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 to take in all the racing festivities. As he hopped out of a motor coach, Bergenty’s ankle rolled and he was suddenly in severe pain. Bergenty was then taken by ambulance to the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center, where he is scheduled to have surgery this afternoon. Depending on Bergenty’s progress, the next race for Bean could be the Sylvania 300 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, on September 20, 2009.(BlackJack Racing)(8-18-2009)
