#14-Tony Stewart and #19-Elliott Sadler have the longest current streak of finishing races at 49 of drivers who have ran all the races. #43-Reed Sorenson actually has a longer streak, at 52 races since he DNF’d at Talladega in April 2008, he didn’t race at Infineon Raceway in 2008. Eight drivers have run all the 2009 races and not had a DNF: #14-Stewart, #39-Newman, #9-Kahne, #00-Reutimann, #07-Mears, #19-Sadler, #44-Allmendinger & #43-Sorenson. #78-Regan Smith ran all of his first 53 races without a DNF but in the 54th, he wrecked and DNF’d, his first career DNF. The all-time record for the longest streak of NOT having an DNF is 84 races held by Herman Beam from April 30, 1961 thru March 10, 1963 [Beam didn’t run all the races, but didn’t DNF in 84 straight consecutive races that he ran]. Clint Bowyer holds the modern day (1972-present) at 83, next is Kevin Harvick at 81 and 58, then Jeff Gordon at 56 and Dale Earnhardt at 53.
The Most in 2009: #66-Blaney has the most DNF’s in 2009 with 22 [in 23 starts], followed by #87-Nemechek who has 18 [in 21 starts]. Both of these teams are start-and-parkers for most races.
