Hearing a deal was put together recently with Bobby Dotter at SS Green Light Racing for Burt Myers to drive the # 07 Chevy Truck at Martinsville Speedway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on October 24, 2009.(10-19-2009)
UPDATE: When the NASCAR Camping World Trucks take to the Martinsville Speedway on Saturday afternoon the two SS Green Light Racing entries will have a “modified look” as Burt Myers and Tim Brown take the wheel of the teams #07 and #08 Chevy Silverados. Both drivers will be making their NCWTS debut this weekend. The Myers name should be familiar to NASCAR fans as Burt will be the third generation of Myers to run in one of NASCAR’s top three touring series. The Myers Brothers Award is given annually by the National Motorsports Press Association and recognizes individuals or groups who have provided outstanding contributions to the sport of stock car racing. The award is named after two of NASCAR stock car racing’s pioneers, the late brothers Billy and Bobby Myers. (Burt’s grandfather and great uncle.) Burt’s father Gary Myers had 46 starts in the Grand National (now Sprint Cup) series from 1972 to 1978. Myers, a native of Walnut Cove, NC has 76 career feature victories and seven championships since getting behind the wheel in 1995 will pilot the #07 with support from The Wyatt Winstead Foundation, Capital Bank of Raleigh, NC, Dynamic Downhole Services and JRC Investments has goals of joining the series full time.(SS Green Light Racing PR)(10-22-2009)
