Fresh off winning the 2009 ARCA Re/Max Series championship, Justin Lofton appears to be headed to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for 2010. Lofton said Friday at Memphis Motorsports Park that he has sponsorship for a full Truck season through his family’s Lofton Cattle company and associated vendors. Lofton had hoped to race in the Nationwide Series next season but doesn’t have enough backing for a full season. “But I have it for the Truck series,” Lofton said. “We’ve been talking to a couple Truck teams. I was really hoping to have something secured up this weekend, and I was planning on going to Martinsville originally. But it’s kind of been postponed since I’ve been here.” Lofton went to Memphis to serve as a backup for Roush Fenway Racing’s Matt Kenseth in case Kenseth couldn’t make it from Martinsville Speedway. Lofton said he hopes teams notice that Roush Fenway picked him, sparking future interest for a Nationwide ride. But the Truck series is the likely destination for Lofton. Lofton said he’ll run the Truck schedule for one of three Toyota teams next year. Toyota and Triad Racing Development helped Lofton’s team in ARCA this year.(SceneDaily.com)(10-24-2009)
