#99-Carl Edwards, who won a Sprint Cup Series-high nine races in 2008, did not win any Sprint Cup Series races in 2009 after finishing 7th at Homestead. Only two other times in series history has a driver won more races one season and been shut out the next. Ned Jarrett and Junior Johnson both won 13 times in 1965, but were winless in 1966 as Jarrett only ran half the season in 1966, still finishing 13th in the points and Junior Johnson only ran seven more races in 1966 before retiring.
