UPDATE: John Carter Racing (formerly Carter-Simo) will not attempt the Daytona 500 this season. The #08 team plans to run races this season but understands its participation is very sponsor dependent. Carter says, “Right now we are actively looking for a sponsor, it’s really going to dictate how often we compete this season. I think we can prove to be a very good fit for a company, it’s just about finding the right one.” said a team representative. “We already have some things in place moving forward , however the timing for the Daytona 500 just wasn’t going to happen.
