‘¢ Juan Pablo Montoya won the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen at Watkins Glen International. It was his second Sprint Cup Series victory in his 131st start. It was his first win in 2010 and the second of his career, the first coming at Sonoma in 2007. He ended a 113-race winless streak and led 74 of 90 laps. He led the most laps for the second time in 2010 (Indy) and for the fourth time in his career, but the first he has won after leading the most. He has led in 13 of the 22 races in 2010. Montoya is the fourth driver to win in 2010 who broke winless streaks of 50 or more races, joining (Ryan Newman, Kevin Harvick and Greg Biffle.
‘¢ Montoya is the 10th different race winner in 2010 and the 17th different race winner in 28 races at Watkins Glen. It was his third straight top-10 finish at Watkins Glen and his seventh top-10 finish in eight career road course races.
‘¢ It was the third win in 2010 for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates. Jamie McMurray won at Daytona and Indy. It was the team’s first win at Watkins Glen. Ganassi won the Rolex Grand-Am race with Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett at Watkins Glen on Saturday and won the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio with Dario Franchitti on Sunday.
‘¢ Chevrolet earned its series-leading 11th win in 2010. Toyota has eight, Dodge two and Ford one. It was Chevrolet’s 16th win at Watkins Glen, the most of all manufacturers. Chevrolet has won 12 of the past 14 races at Watkins Glen.
‘¢ Crew Chief Brian Pattie earned his first Cup win.
‘¢ Kurt Busch finished second in his 350th career series start and posted best finish in his 10 races at Watkins Glen; he extended a three-race streak of top-10 finishes at Watkins Glen.
‘¢ Marcos Ambrose (who finished third) posted third straight top-three finish in three Watkins Glen races. Ambrose has finished sixth or better in the past five road course races.
‘¢ AJ Allmendinger (fourth) posted his career-best road course finish.
‘¢ Carl Edwards (fifth) posted his fifth straight top-10 finish in six races at Watkins Glen.
‘¢ Tony Stewart (seventh) has finished 11th or better in 11 of his 12 races at Watkins Glen.
