Kyle Busch said Wednesday he would shut down his Camping World Truck Series team after this season if he cannot find a sponsor. At the start of the year, Busch thought he had Miccosukee Resort & Gaming as a sponsor for one truck for the entire season, and had hoped to find sponsors for two more trucks. But a change in leadership at the Indian tribe resulted in the loss of that sponsorship and no other full-time sponsors materialized. He started the year with two trucks, sharing the driving duties with Brian Ickler in one of the entries while Tayler Malsam drove the team’s second truck. But Busch ended up shutting down Malsam’s team in June because of the lack of sponsorship, and Malsam joined Braun Racing. “If we don’t find a sponsor for next year, I’m going to have shut it down. I’m not going to be able to do anything. That’s very unfortunate because I love all the guys working for me.” Busch said he has about 30 employees who would be let go from the No. 18 team, which is currently second in the owner points, just 82 points behind the Germain Racing No. 30 team and driver Todd Bodine.(SceneDaily.com)(9-16-2010)
