  • ‘¢ Carl Edwards won the Sprint Cup Series Kobalt Tools 500 at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday. He earned his 17th series victory in his 228th start. It was his first win in 2010, ending a 70-race winless streak that dated to Homestead in November 2008. He became the sixth driver in 2010 to end a winless streak in excess of 63 races. in three of past four races at Phoenix, a driver ended a winless streak of 70 or more races. Edwards became the 13th different race winner in 2010. It was Edwards’ 18th top-10 finish in 35 races in 2010. He led five times for 93 laps, including the final 47, the most laps he has led in 13 races at Phoenix.
    ‘¢ This was the 119th series win for Roush Fenway Racing, ranking fourth all-time. It was the third win in 2010 for the team. Greg Biffle has won twice. Ford scored its milestone 600th series victory and 13th at Phoenix.
    ‘¢ Ryan Newman (finished second) finished first and second at Phoenix in 2010.
    ‘¢ Joey Logano (third) posted his fifth straight top-10 finish in 2010 and third straight top-5.
    ‘¢ Biffle (fourth) has finished 14th or better in six of the past seven Phoenix races.
    ‘¢ Jimmie Johnson (fifth) scored his sixth top-5 finish in nine Chase races, the most by any driver. ‘¢ Mark Martin (eighth) has finished 14th or better in the past 10 Phoenix races.
