UPDATE: Turn One Racing is pleased to announce that Cole Whitt will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut this Friday in the Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, driving the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Chevrolet Silverado. The announcement comes after an impressive debut by Whitt in last week’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Phoenix International Raceway where he ran as high as 11th before finishing 15th in a car fielded by the Red Bull Racing Team. “I am excited to be able to climb into Stacy’s No. 60 SafeAuto truck and put a good run together for Stacy, the guys and all of their partners,” said Whitt. “They have a great program and a fast truck. I am just so thankful for the opportunity.”Stacy Compton, Owner of Turn One Racing, is equally excited. “Cole Whitt is the future of NASCAR,” he said. “We are really excited to have him drive for us at Homestead . He has a lot of natural talent, a true desire to win, and a great understanding of race cars and the changes that need to be made to make them go fast.” The 19 year-old California native, who is a development driver for the Red Bull Racing Team, drove for that team this earlier this year in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East where he finished fourth in the championship point standings after scoring two starts from the pole position, and six top-five and seven top-10 finishes in only 10 starts.(Turn One Racing PR)(11-18-2010)
