New NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race Ad Campaign to debut:

NASCAR stars square off like it’s high noon at the OK Corral in the new ad campaign for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The 30-second spot, titled “Wild West Throwdown,” is scheduled to air nationally for the first time during the 10:00 am/et broadcast of “NASCAR Live” on SPEED this Saturday and features many of the biggest names in NASCAR. The NASCAR Sprint All-Star race, to be held under the lights on Saturday night, May 21, is the ultimate stand-off among the top drivers in NASCAR in a no-holds-barred throwdown for the $1 million prize. The race, now in its 27th year, annually produces some of the best duels and biggest drama in racing. The new campaign, created and directed by Victory Management Group and produced by NASCAR Media Group, plays off of that “throwdown” theme. The first scene of the television spot opens on Main Street in Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Whiskey River, a replica of an old western town on his property, complete with church, jail, general store and saloon. Carl Edwards and Kasey Kahne are the good guys challenged to a duel by tough guys Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch. Just as they all draw their guns, the sheriff, wearing a black hat and gold badge, steps in to restore law and order. The actor playing the sheriff? None other than NASCAR President Mike Helton.(CMS)(2-19-2011)
