Carl Edwards won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 7th Annual SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500 with a lap of 26.224 seconds, 137.279 mph. He breaks his own record (136.389) set Nov. 14, 2010. The top 15 qualifiers eclipsed the old mark. This is his eighth pole in 231 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. This is his first pole and first top-10 start in 2011. This is his third pole in 14 races at Phoenix International Raceway. Edwards won last November’s race. Kurt Busch (second) posted his second top-10 start of 2011 and his 11th in 17 races at Phoenix International Raceway. Kasey Kahne (third) posted his sixth top-10 start at Phoenix International Raceway. It is his first in two races this season. Andy Lally (41st) was the fastest qualifying rookie.
