Kyle Busch won the Bashas Supermarket 200 at Phoenix International Raceway. It was his 44th career Nationwide win in his 204th race. He trails Mark Martin by four for the most wins in series history. It was his fourth win at Phoenix, tying Carl Edwards for the most. It was Busch’s 10th career win from the pole.
Busch posted his seventh NASCAR National Touring Series win at Phoenix (Trucks, two; Nationwide, four; Cup, one).
Busch posted his 88th NASCAR win across all series, breaking a tie with Jeff Gordon for sixth all time.
It marked the seventh time Busch has won the Truck and Nationwide races in the same weekend, and the second time at Phoenix.
Busch won all three National Touring races at Bristol last year.
Busch led all 200 laps. The last driver to lead all laps in a Nationwide race was Dale Earnhardt Jr. at Daytona in July 2003. Busch is the 14th driver to lead all laps in a Nationwide race (excludes the 1982 and some of 1983 season, in which lap-leader data is incomplete).
Joe Gibbs Racing posted its 59th career win, second all time, and third victory at Phoenix. JGR has won 50 of the past 107 races since the start of 2008.
Toyota posted its third win at Phoenix and 55th career victory.
Carl Edwards (second) finished in the top two in five of the past seven Phoenix races. He ran second to Busch the entire race.
Kevin Harvick (third) finished in the top 10 in his last 13 races and in the top three in his last four.
Ryan Newman finished fourth in his first Nationwide start since Charlotte last fall.
Reed Sorenson (fifth) leads the points by five over Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who finished seventh for his fourth straight top-10 finish.
A series-eligible driver has yet to win this season in the series they are competing in.
There were no lead changes Saturday, first time a driver led all the laps at Phoenix.
Timmy Hill (29th) made his series debut a day after his 18th birthday.
