John-Philip Bowen hopes to begin a new chapter in his singing career on Saturday, March 5 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Bowen, a Las Vegas resident and aspiring entertainer, won the recent FOX 5 TV Speedway Superstar competition and will sing the national anthem prior to the start of the Sams Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race. Bowen, a 30-year-old employee at Open Top Sightseeing Tours, has been singing in national performances for several years but will experience his first NASCAR race at LVMS on March 5. Race sponsor Sams Town Hotel & Gambling Hall and FOX 5 TV staged an open audition to find a talent to sing the national anthem and chose Bowen out of more than 120 contestants.
