some quotables from his appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Wednesday night; Leno: “What was up with that burnout?” Gordon: “I was a little rusty. It’s been a little while since I’ve done a burnout. I was in the sport so long, when I used to win we didn’t do burnouts! I’ve got to keep up with the kids.” He talks about the fight with fellow racer Jeff Burton: Gordon: “I’m passionate about what I do out there and we weren’t having a great day anyway, neither Jeff or myself and that doesn’t help things,” when Leno asked Gordon if he’s forgiven Burton , Gordon continued, “Forgiven, never forget, right? I like Jeff. We get along good, but that was uncalled for and I certainly won’t forget that. But we’re fine. We’re going to go race hard. It’s all good.” About being new to Twitter and an unexpected good luck charm: “This whole social media thing is new to me, but I have to say I’m having a blast with it. Getting to see the comments and reactions. It’s funny, because on Sunday, the day of the race, I happened to check my Twitter page and a woman tweeted that she had the hiccups. I won the race. The last four times she had the hiccups I won those four races!” He continued, “I just hope she has the hiccups every weekend. I’ve got to figure out how to make her have the hiccups every weekend.” See clips of the interview at nbc.com(NBC)(3-3-2011)
