Goodyear Tire Notes:

Teams in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will run the same tire codes at Las Vegas this weekend . . . this is the first time NASCAR teams will be running either of these two codes . . . this tire combination came out of a Goodyear test at Las Vegas on November 7 & 9, 2011 . . . participating in that test were A.J. Allmendinger and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports Ford, Sam Hornish in the No. 22 Penske Racing Dodge, Joey Logano in the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, Paul Menard in the No. 27 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet and Juan Pablo Montoya in the Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing Chevrolet . . .compared to what was run at Las Vegas last year, this tire set-up features a slight construction change on both sides, while this right-side tire features a new tread compound to give the cars more grip . . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Las Vegas . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
