Truex cleared to race at Dover: #20-Ryan Truex underwent an emergency appendectomy after feeling severe discomfort in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 22. Doctors operated on Truex, removing his appendix that afternoon after determining that surgery was needed. The 20-year old NNS competitor has been cleared and is ready to compete in this weekend’s 200-lap event at The Monster Mile. ‘I felt fine Monday evening, but around 2 a.m. felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I went to the hospital to find out that my appendix hadn’t burst, but needed surgery to be removed’ said Truex. ‘The procedure went extremely well and I’m ready to get back in the #20 Grime Boss Toyota this weekendâ¦I’ll just be a little lighter.â(JRG)(5-30-2012)
