Prietzel driving for R3 at Road America: R3 Motorsports has named 59-year-old Bill Prietzel driver of the #23 Chevy in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Sargento 200 at Road America, Saturday June 23rd. The #23 has been piloted by Robert Richardson Jr. this season and is currently 30th in the owner standings. Bill Prietzel ‘The Franklin Flyerâ is an old school racer from the land of Matt Kenseth. He has been racing at the short tracks of Wisconsin from the early 1970s. He earned a Sportsman Division Championship in 1977. Bill has had some success racing in the Mid American Stock Car Series where he won championships in 2000, 2003 and 2005. Bill currently is fifth in points. He has also had some success racing in the Trans Am America’s Road Racing Series with a second place finish last year at Sebring. He has also won at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course and Road America with an ASA car.(Rant Sports)(6-22-2012)
