Morgan Shepherd skips Daytona: For the first time since 2008, there will not be a #89 attempting a NASCAR Nationwide Series race. Morgan Shepherd has decided to skip this weekends annual 4th of July event at Daytona. ‘It was a business decision we had to make.â says Shepherd. ‘We’re dissappointed, but sometimes you have to take a step back to take two steps forward. I know alot of our loyal fans will be dissappointed, but we’ll be back for New Hampshire next weekend.â Shepherd’s 89 team has been a full-time effort since the beginning of 2009 and has not missed an attempt to qualify in over three years. ‘I’ve been very blessed and we’ve been fortunate to still be going this long.â Shepherd continues. ‘I want to thank the fans for their unwaivering support and ask them to keep the faith! I’m not quitting!â(Morgan Shepherd PR)(7-6-2012)
