Burger King’s beloved Whopper sandwich is celebrating its 55th birthday this year and Landon Cassill is going to honor the occasion with a special paint scheme at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Cassill’s #83 BK Racing Toyota will carry retro red and white styling to reflect the period that the Whopper made its debut, complimented by the original Burger King mascot on the quarter panel and deck lid. Across the hood, a logo declares ‘Celebrating 55 years’¦of the Whopper Sandwich.’
‘This is a really cool looking car,’ Cassill said. ‘All the guys at BK Racing and I have had our fair share of Whoppers, so we ‘re really excited to help celebrate the 55th birthday. We ‘ve done a bunch of appearances at Burger Kings this season. I know this, there are tons of race fans out there that love Whoppers, that’s for sure. I think they ‘re going to really like this paint scheme.’ The Whopper was introduced to America in 1957 and sold for 37 cents.
