New spotter at Tommy Baldwin Racing:

Doug Campbell, of Berlin, CT, provided the ‘eyes in the sky’ this season as Millis teen Tommy Barrett Jr. tore up the Valenti Modified Racing Series. Along the way, the duo became friends with former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour team owner Mario Fiore, of Agawam. Using Fiore’s many connections in NASCAR, Campbell landed a chance to spot for #37-J.J. Yeley at three Sprint Cup races (New Hampshire, Dover, Charlotte) this past fall. On Thursday, Fiore revealed via Facebook that Campbell, 20, had received a more permanent position. Campbell confirmed that beginning with testing at Daytona International Speedway in January, he will be spotting for Tommy Baldwin Racing, which fielded cars last season for #36-Dave Blaney and #10-David Reutimann. The relationship will continue through Speedweeks in February. Campbell is preparing for his move to North Carolina.(Republican)(12-16-2012)
