Brian Scott will make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct. 12 in the Bank of America 500. ‘Its a dream come true and something Ive been working toward’ said Scott, who is seventh in the points standings on the Nationwide Series, NASCARs second-best level. Scott is already planning to become a fixture in the Sprint Cup. ‘Its a huge opportunity. Any time youre getting the opportunity to go up there and race against the big guys, its for sure a tryout’ said Scott, who will drive the #33 Shore Lodge Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing. ‘If you go out there and perform well, it opens opportunities for rides at any time. If this race goes good, maybe another race or two this year.” Scott is in the first year of a two-year contract with Richard Childress Racing. Part of the deal, Scott said, is a commitment to getting Scott into the Sprint Cup Series. His plan for next season is to run a full-time Nationwide schedule (and to win a championship), while sprinkling in five to 10 Sprint Cup races.( Idaho Statesman )
