Kurt Busch won the 65th Annual STP 500, his 25th victory in 477 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.
There were 33 lead changes today, a new track record. The previous record was 31, set on April 3, 2011.
This is Busch’s first victory and second top-10 finish in 2014.
With the victory, Busch breaks an 83-start winless drought. His last win came at Dover on Oct. 2, 2011.
This is his second victory and fifth top-10 finish in 28 races at Martinsville Speedway. His first Martinsville win came in October 2002.
There have now been six different winners in the first six races this season, the most in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup era and longest streak to start a season since 2003.
Jimmie Johnson (second) posted his 22nd top-10 finish in 25 races at Martinsville Speedway. It is his fourth top-10 finish in 2014.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. (third) posted his 16th top-10 finish in 29 races at Martinsville Speedway.
