Chris Cockrum, a Conyers, GA. native, announced he will be once again piloting the #87 Advanced Communications Group / Capt. Herb Emory Ford Mustang for Rick Ware Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Great Clips 300 to benefit Feed the Children race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Making only his second Nationwide series start, Chris is looking forward to reuniting with car owner Rick Ware and crew chief Jeff Spraker and would like to thank them and the entire RWR team for all of their hard work in putting this effort together. The paint scheme on the #87 Ford will be adorned with Captain Herb livery, but also with charities that Emory, a Georgia Radio Hall of Fame inductee and longtime airborne traffic reporter and racing show host for WSB Radio in Atlanta, supported during his legendary career. Those include Toys for Tots, A Gift of Love Services in Douglasville, Douglas County Humane Society, and the Share House Family Crisis Center in Douglas County. Captain Herb tragically died in April of a massive heart attack as he was assisting authorities at the scene of a crash in front of his house.(PR), see an image of the car on the #87 team paint schemes page.
