86th consecutive Michigan race for Wood Brothers:

The weather cooperated long enough Friday to allow Wood Brothers Racing to qualify for its 86th consecutive Cup race at Michigan International Speedway. That’s a streak unmatched by any other Sprint Cup team at the track. It appeared the team and driver #21-Ryan Blaney might miss the race due to rain. If qualifying was washed out, the 43-car field would have been based off the NASCAR rule book and the starting grid determined by practice times, resulting in Blaney not making Sunday’s race. But qualifying went on Friday as planned. Blaney will start Sunday’s race after turning in the fifth-fastest qualifying lap of 201.056 mph.(Associated Press)(6-13-2015)
