Kansas Goodyear Tire Notes

: Teams in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series will run the same tire set-up at Kansas this weekend . . . this is the same combination of left- and right-side tires Sprint Cup and Camping World Truck Series teams ran at this track in May . . . all NASCAR teams have run this left-side tire code (D-4604) at Kansas since 2014 . . . Kansas is the only track at which Sprint Cup teams run this left-side tire, though they have run this right-side tire (D-4630) at Las Vegas, Talladega and Michigan this season . . . this is the first time Xfinity teams have run this right-side code (D-4630) at Kansas . . . compared to what they ran at this track last year, this right-side tire features a construction change that brings it into line with what is run at other speedways . . . Xfinity teams ran this same tire set-up at Michigan in June . . . they have also run this right-side tire at Las Vegas and Talladega this season . . . this tire set-up was re-confirmed at a Goodyear tire test at Kansas on September 14-15 . . . drivers participating in that test were Aric Almirola, Jimmie Johnson, Martin Truex Jr. and J.J. Yeley . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Kansas . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.(Goodyear), see tire codes. pressures, set limits and more on the‚ Kansas Race Info page.(10-15-2015)
