UPDATE: Tommy Baldwin Racing and Toy State have announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement for the #7 Chevy driven by Alex Bowman. Toy State sponsored Bowman for nine races this past year (was on the car for the Daytona 500 which the team failed to qualify for), and will be stepping up to 13 Sprint Cup Series races in 2016 and 17 in 2017. TBR is entering its eighth year, but it’s the first off-season where the team can concentrate on the upcoming season with sponsorship secured. “It’s a nice way to start the new year,” Baldwin said, “to have a company like Toy State with all its different brands of toys and Nikko radio-controlled cars.” Throughout the season, Bowman’s #7 entry will feature many paint schemes closer to what the consumer will actually see in the toy lines. During the announcement, which was held at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the team unveiled one of the new paint schemes that resembles an RC shark monster truck in the product line. Last year, Bowman and the team participated in many events at hospitals to give toys away to kids and will continue that through this partnership. “It’s great to be a part of this,” Bowman said. “To have them on our car and to be able to put smiles on kids’ faces everywhere we go has been really special.” TBR will have an alliance with Richard Childress Racing and ECR engines for 2016. “We’ve hired a lot of good people to join the good people we already have for next year,” Baldwin said. “We’re rebuilding our whole fleet and updating to the latest, greatest thing that we need. UPDATE 2: Tommy Baldwin Racing has announced that Nikko RC/Toy State will become the majority sponsor of driver Alex Bowman and his #7 Chevy team for the 2016 season. Announced Tuesday at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, team owner Tommy Baldwin was joined on stage by Toy State President Andy Friess and driver Alex Bowman. NASCAR fans were first introduced to Toy State’s extensive portfolio as the #7 Tommy Baldwin Racing Chevy featured their flagship Road Rippers and Nikko brands during the 2015 season. The company boasts brands that include Hot Wheels, WWE and James Bond 007 “lights & sound” and radio controlled vehicles, as well as Cat and Cat Preschool construction toys.
The partnership between Nikko RC/ Toy State and Tommy Baldwin Racing will feature their brand as a primary sponsor of the #7 team in 13 NASCAR Sprint Cup races during the 2016 season and as an associate-level partner in 14 other races. “Nikko RC/Toy State’s level of commitment to our team during the 2015 season allowed us to strengthen our program. The multi-year partnership has enabled us to set realistic goals and expectations for towards our continued growth,” said team owner, Tommy Baldwin.
