It’s that time of year, when the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads toward Sonoma Raceway for the Toyota/Save Mart 350. This stop is a particular highlight for California native and Germain Racing driver Casey Mears. He’ll pilot the #13 GEICO Chevy at Sonoma with Napa Valley’s Caymus Vineyards and Wagner Family of Wineon board the race car as a major associate sponsor for the fourth consecutive season. ‘Our relationship with Caymus is a real treat. The Wagner family has been great to us and it’s always fun to spend time with them when we are out that way,’ said Mears, who will be making his 13th Sprint Cup start at Sonoma. ‘Sonoma is a lot of fun! The road courses are a great way to break up the season. I would like to have more of them. We seem to have a great running GEICO Chevrolet whenever we get to Sonoma so that always makes it more enjoyable.’ Caymus Vineyards is located in Rutherford, Napa Valley, a short drive from Sonoma Raceway. ‘There was no question we wanted to continue our sponsorship of Germain Racing again this year,’ said Chuck Wagner, Owner/Winemaker of Caymus Vineyards. ‘Not only is the race at Sonoma Raceway exciting and different each year, but we enjoy seeing the team and Casey Mears evolve over time.
