Ron Young has replaced Shane Hall as driver for Ken Alexander’s BGN team. Young, a veteran of NASCAR’s All Pro series, is scheduled to drive the Greenville-based #63 Chevy for the first time this week in Dover. Hall said he will continue to pursue driver vacancies in the next few months as preparation for the 2003 season. “I’d like to run some American Speed Association races or maybe a (Craftsman) Truck race or two,” he said Wednesday. “I’d like to get in something where I could have some decent runs, something halfway impressive to get ready for next year.” Hall drove for the team without major sponsorship most of the season. Alexander also has driven his own cars. Young brings new financial backing to the team.(Greenville News)(9-19-2002)
